Abstract:Objective To investigate the signifcance of serum anti-mullerian hormone(AMH)and serum inhibin B(INH-B)in the evaluation of testicular function of children with cryp-torchidism.Methods From November 2018 to July 2019,53 cases of INH-B and AMH levels in children with cryptorchidism were detected by immunosorbent assay(ELISA),ineluding 31 children with unilateral cryptorchidism.There were 19 ceases of right cryptorchidism,12 cases of left cryp-torchidism,and 22 cases of bilateral eryptorchidism.The average age was(55.0+3.5)months.An-other 51 normal male children were randomly selected as the control group,with an average age of(54.6+2.7)months.Serum AMH and INH-B,and related developmental paramelers were measured in both groups before and 6 months after surgery.The differences in serum hormone levels between groups and before and after surgery were analyzed and compared.Results Children with cryptorechid-ism and control group were measured for genital development parameters before surgery,including pe-nis length,penis circumference and testicular volume.There were staistically significant dfferences between the cryptorchidism group and the control group except the testicular volume parameters.Uni-lateral cryptorchidism and bilateral cryptorchidism were compared with serum INH-B and AMH values,unilateral group(71.36±6.80)pg/ml.vs.bilateral group(68.08±7.10)pg/mL,unilateral group(115.44±8.90)ng/mL vs.double-sided group(110.32+9.10)ng/mL,the data of the two indicators in the unilateral group were significantly higher than the bilateral group,and the difference was saistically signifcant(P<0.05).The serum INH-B values of the eryptorchidism group and the control group were(69.97±7.50)pg/mL,(75.15±6.30)pg/mL,respectively.The difference was staistically signifcant(P<0.05).The serum AMH values of cryplorchidism group and control group were(113.32+9.30)ng/ml.and(127.80±8.70)ng/mL,respectively.The differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The serum INH-B value was(72.81+6.80)pg/mL in the cryptorchidism group at 6 months follow-up.The serum AMH value of the ery plorchidism group was(119.79+7.30)ng/mL at 6 months follow-up.There were significant differences in serum AMH and INH-B levels before operation.Conclusions Serum AMH and serum INH-B levels can be used as a reliable indicator for assessing testicular function in patients with cryptorchidism,and can evaluate tes-ticular function recovery after testicular fixation.
